Theme: “Christmas In July” – Movie: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

The night will be themed “Christmas in July”, and the menu will include a Christmas Turkey (hopefully a little less dry than the one in the movie) and gravy. Dessert will be my daddy’s famous Christmas cookies! Thematic food ideas abound this time, so bring your favorite Christmas dish if you are so inclined.
We’ll be ready for guests at around 6:30, dinner will begin around 7 and the movie will start as soon as the sun allows.
If you can let us know ahead of time that you’ll be coming, it is appreciated and can be done below, but if you suddenly find that you’re available at the last minute – please do come anyway. If you’re able to bring something, please put it in the comments below (submitted comments won’t likely show until they’ve been viewed by a moderator), but your presence alone is more than enough of a contribution.
Maggie and her Mom will attend and will bring cranberry relish saturated with Grand Marnier.
I’m bringing a homemade stuffing with herbs from my garden.
I plan to bring green bean casserole (you know, the “classic” with mushroom soup, French’s onions, etc.).

We’ll bring a brocolli and cauliflower salad – a family staple for Christmas. And maybe some candied pecans.
